ROLE OVERVIEW
The Multi-Speciality Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all physical infrastructure across the hotel and banquet premises. This includes electrical, plumbing, carpentry, AC, and general civil works — ensuring all areas remain functional, safe, and presentable at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical
- Routine checking and repair of all electrical fittings, switches, wiring, DB boards
- Replace fuses, bulbs, tube lights, fans, and electrical fixtures
- Ensure all backup systems (invertors, generators) are functional
- Report and escalate major electrical faults to licensed contractor
Plumbing
- Attend to leakages, blockages, tap repairs, flush tank issues
- Maintain water supply lines, overhead tanks, and motor pumps
- Bathroom and kitchen plumbing upkeep across all units
Air Conditioning
- Basic AC servicing — filter cleaning, drainage pipe clearing
- Identify and report gas leakage or compressor issues
- Coordinate with AC vendor for major breakdowns
- Maintain AC service log for all units
Carpentry & Furniture
- Repair of doors, windows, hinges, locks, furniture joints
- Fix loose fittings, broken handles, curtain rods, blinds
- Minor woodwork and partitioning as required
Civil & General Maintenance
- Minor plastering, wall touch-ups, tile fixing
- Painting touch-ups in rooms, corridors, and banquet areas
- General upkeep of back-of-house and operational areas
Banquet & Event Support
- Set up and dismantle of equipment, stage, lighting rigs before/after events
- Ensure power connections, extension boards, and lighting are event-ready
- Standby during major banquet functions for immediate support
Daily Operations
- Conduct morning rounds of all areas and report issues
- Maintain a daily work log of tasks completed
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Desk for room maintenance requests
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and stored properly
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and basic civil work
- Ability to handle multiple trades independently
- Basic understanding of AC systems
- Physically fit — able to work at heights, confined spaces
- Problem-solving mindset with quick response ability
- Able to read basic technical diagrams is a plus
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical (preferred)
- Minimum 10 years experience in hotel / commercial building maintenance
- Prior experience in a hospitality property is an advantage
WORKING CONDITIONS
- 6 days working / rotational shifts
- On-call availability during events and emergencies
- Must be available for early morning and late evening event support
