We are seeking a passionate, versatile, and experienced Dance Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to instruct a diverse range of students, from energetic toddlers to adults looking for fitness, technique, or a fun creative outlet. You will be responsible for planning engaging lessons, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and helping students of all ages build confidence and skill in dance.
Key Responsibilities
General Duties
Plan and execute structured, engaging, and age-appropriate dance routines and curriculums.
Teach specific dance styles such as [insert styles, e.g., Ballet, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Bollywood, Jazz].
Maintain a safe, clean, and positive studio environment.
Choreograph routines for studio recitals, showcases, and competitions.
Track student attendance, progress, and development.
Children’s Classes (Ages [e.g., 3-12])
Use creative and playful teaching methods to keep young children engaged and focused.
Teach foundational dance techniques while emphasizing rhythm, coordination, and teamwork.
Manage classroom behavior effectively and with empathy.
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child’s progress and upcoming studio events.
Adult Classes (Ages [e.g., 18+])
Adapt teaching styles to accommodate adult beginners, intermediate dancers, and those returning to dance after a hiatus.
Focus on technique, musicality, fitness, and stress relief in a supportive, judgment-free zone.
Break down complex choreography into easily digestible steps for mature learners.
Build community and rapport among adult students to encourage high retention and a welcoming atmosphere.
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience working as a Dance Teacher, Choreographer, or professional dancer.
Demonstrated ability to teach both young children and adults effectively.
Strong background and technical proficiency.
Background check clearance for working with minors.
High school diploma or equivalent (A degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or Education is a plus).
