1. Job Purpose
The Retail Head will be responsible for managing and driving the overall retail business of the company, including all school uniform stores. The role will focus on sales growth, store operations, inventory management, customer experience, team performance, profitability, and achievement of retail targets.
The Retail Head will ensure that all stores operate efficiently and consistently while delivering excellent service to schools, parents, students, and other customers.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Retail Sales & Business Growth
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual retail sales targets.
- Monitor store-wise sales and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Drive sales during peak school uniform seasons and admission periods.
- Analyse sales trends, school-wise demand, article-wise sales, and customer buying patterns.
- Improve conversion rates, average bill value, and repeat customer sales.
- Develop plans for underperforming stores and ensure timely corrective action.
B. Store Operations
- Manage the overall operations of all retail stores.
- Ensure stores follow company SOPs, policies, processes, and reporting formats.
- Monitor store opening and closing, staff attendance, grooming, discipline, and customer service.
- Ensure proper display, merchandising, cleanliness, and availability of products.
- Conduct regular store visits and operational audits.
- Ensure timely resolution of store-level operational issues.
C. Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor store-wise stock availability and ensure adequate stock of fast-moving articles.
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Inventory, and Purchase teams for stock requirements.
- Monitor stock transfers, replenishment, shortages, excess stock, and slow-moving inventory.
- Ensure proper inward, outward, stock transfer, and return processes.
- Minimise stock-outs, excess inventory, damages, and stock discrepancies.
- Ensure regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
D. Team Management
- Lead and manage Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, Team Leaders, and retail staff.
- Set clear targets and KRAs for the retail team.
- Monitor individual and store-wise performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.
- Identify training requirements and arrange training for sales and customer-service teams.
- Ensure proper manpower planning as per store requirements.
- Maintain discipline and accountability across all retail locations.
E. Customer Experience
- Ensure excellent customer service across all stores.
- Monitor and resolve customer complaints and escalations.
- Establish service standards for staff interaction with parents, students, and school representatives.
- Track customer feedback and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure proper handling of exchanges, returns, alterations, and complaints as per company policy.
F. School & Institutional Coordination
- Coordinate with schools regarding uniform requirements, new designs, article changes, and sales arrangements.
- Ensure retail stores are prepared for new academic sessions and school launches.
- Coordinate with the Sales, Production, Sampling, and Design teams for school-specific requirements.
- Monitor school-wise sales performance and customer feedback.
G. MIS & Reporting
Ensure timely submission and review of:
- Daily store-wise sales report
- Monthly sales report
- Store-wise target vs. achievement
- Article-wise sales report
- Stock availability report
- Stock-out report
- Customer complaint report
- Exchange/return report
- Store expense report
- Staff attendance and manpower report
- Store profitability report
- Slow-moving and non-moving stock report
H. Profitability & Cost Control
- Monitor store-wise revenue and profitability.
- Control unnecessary store expenses and operational costs.
- Analyse gross margins and product-wise profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve store productivity and profitability.
- Ensure proper utilisation of manpower and resources.
I. Retail Expansion
- Identify potential locations for new retail stores.
- Support feasibility studies for new store openings.
- Assist management in evaluating location, manpower, expected sales, and operational requirements.
- Develop SOPs and processes for new store launches.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The Retail Head will be evaluated on:
- Achievement of monthly and annual sales targets
- Store-wise sales growth
- Revenue and profitability
- Customer conversion rate

- Stock availability
- Reduction in stock-outs

4. Authority & Decision-Making
The Retail Head will have authority to:
- Set store-level sales targets in coordination with management.
- Allocate targets among stores and team members.
- Recommend manpower requirements and performance actions.
- Recommend transfers, incentives, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Recommend stock transfers and replenishment requirements.
- Escalate major operational, financial, and customer-related issues to management.
- Implement approved retail SOPs and processes.

6. Qualification & Experience
Education: Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Retail/Marketing will be an advantage.
Experience: 8–12 years of relevant experience in retail operations, preferably in garment, apparel, school uniform, fashion, or textile retail, with at least 3–5 years in a senior retail management position.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
