About the Role
FaresPlanet is looking for a high-potential FDE Intern specifically from an Information Technology (IT) or closely related engineering background. You will work closely with Forward-Deployed Engineers and senior engineers to understand client workflows, business problems, and technical requirements, while learning how software engineering connects directly to customer outcomes. This is a hands-on engineering internship with meaningful ownership. You will contribute to automations, integrations, internal tools, and applications tailored to client needs. The role is designed for a strong final-year student or recent graduate who wants to develop practical software engineering, client-facing, and solutions engineering skills in a fast-moving environment.
- Work closely with FDEs and senior engineers to understand client workflows, business problems, and technical requirements.
- Assist in building, testing, and deploying solutions—including automations, integrations, and applications—tailored to client needs.
- Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support debugging and troubleshooting of issues in development and client environments.
- Participate in client calls, demos, technical discussions, and internal reviews to understand how engineering work connects to business outcomes.
- Contribute to internal tools, documentation, templates, and reusable components that improve engineering and delivery speed.
- Learn and apply engineering best practices, coding standards, testing practices, Git workflows, and Agile ways of working.
- Take ownership of small, well-scoped features or engineering tasks and see them through from understanding and implementation to testing and completion.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to understand trade-offs, review approaches, and improve the quality of delivered solutions.
- Final-year student or recent graduate (within the last 12 months) from a premier Indian institute such as IIT, NIT, IIIT, BITS, or an equivalent institution.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++. Page 1 FaresPlanet | FDE Intern – IT Good understanding of databases, APIs, web technologies, and basic software development concepts.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, with a willingness to investigate issues independently.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical ideas and ask thoughtful questions.
- Ability to learn quickly, accept feedback, and work effectively with senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders. Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Git, GitHub/GitLab, REST APIs, SQL, web applications, cloud platforms, or CI/CD.
- Academic, personal, hackathon, open-source, or internship projects demonstrating practical software development.
- Exposure to automation, integrations, AI/ML, LLM applications, or data-driven products is a plus.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts and experience working in collaborative project teams.
- Curiosity about customer problems and an interest in learning how technical solutions create measurable business value.
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
