Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Account Head with prior experience in a Chartered Accountant (CA) firm. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s complete accounting and finance operations, statutory compliances, taxation, financial reporting, audits, and team management.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on knowledge of Tally, Advanced MS Excel, GST, TDS, Income Tax/ITR, financial reporting, audits, and statutory compliances, along with the ability to lead a team and manage multiple accounting assignments efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance Management
· Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations.
· Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of books of accounts and financial records.
· Review journal entries, ledgers, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations.
· Monitor Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
· Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
· Review accounting entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
· Monitor cash flow, receivables, payables, and working capital requirements.
Financial Reporting & MIS
· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Prepare and analyze MIS reports for management.
· Provide financial insights and reports to support business decision-making.
· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
· Track financial performance against budgets and identify areas requiring corrective action.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
· Ensure timely preparation and filing of GST returns and GST reconciliations.
· Manage TDS calculations, payments, return filing, and reconciliations.
· Handle Income Tax computations, ITR filing, and related documentation.
· Coordinate and support tax assessments, notices, and departmental queries.
· Ensure timely compliance with applicable tax laws and statutory requirements.
· Keep track of changes in taxation laws, accounting regulations, and compliance requirements.
Audit & Assurance
· Coordinate with statutory, internal, and tax auditors.
· Prepare audit schedules, financial statements, supporting documents, and reconciliations.
· Review audit requirements and ensure timely submission of documents.
· Address audit observations and coordinate corrective actions.
· Support tax audits and other regulatory audits.
CA Firm & Client Accounting Experience
· Manage and review multiple client accounts and accounting assignments.
· Coordinate with clients regarding accounting, taxation, GST, TDS, and compliance matters.
· Review client books of accounts and identify accounting or compliance discrepancies.
· Handle client queries and provide appropriate accounting and compliance support.
· Ensure timely completion of client assignments and statutory deliverables.
Team Management & Leadership
· Lead, supervise, and guide the accounts and finance team.
· Allocate work and monitor team performance and deadlines.
· Review the team's accounting entries, reconciliations, GST, TDS, and other compliance work.
· Train team members on accounting processes, compliance requirements, and internal procedures.
· Ensure accuracy, productivity, and timely completion of assigned work.
· Act as the primary point of escalation for accounting and finance-related matters.
Process & Internal Control
· Establish and strengthen accounting processes and internal financial controls.
· Identify gaps and implement measures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
· Ensure proper documentation and record management.
· Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
· Ensure proper control over financial transactions and supporting documentation.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in B.Com, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Must have prior working experience in a Chartered Accountant (CA) firm.
· CA Dropout / CA Inter candidates preferred.
· MBA Finance or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
· Additional certifications in taxation, accounting software, or finance will be preferred.
Experience
· 5–15 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance.
· Strong experience in a CA firm is mandatory.
· Experience in handling multiple client accounts, audits, taxation, GST, TDS, ITR, and statutory compliances.
· Previous experience in managing or leading an accounts team is preferred.
Required Skills
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
· Good working knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, ITR, and statutory compliances.
· Strong hands-on experience in Tally/Tally Prime.
· Advanced MS Excel skills, including reporting, reconciliation, formulas, and MIS.
· Strong knowledge of bank and ledger reconciliation.
· Ability to prepare and review financial statements and MIS reports.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
· Good communication and client-handling skills.
· Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
· Team leadership and people-management skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
