Job Summary
M R Enterprises is seeking an experienced IT Head to lead the company’s technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, ERP systems, networking, hardware, software, and digital transformation initiatives. The role will ensure secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations while driving the adoption of modern technologies to improve productivity across manufacturing, commercial, and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management
- Manage the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, networking equipment, CCTV systems, and internet connectivity.
- Ensure maximum uptime of all business-critical IT systems.
- Plan and execute IT infrastructure upgrades and capacity expansion.
ERP & Business Applications
- Manage ERP implementation, maintenance, and user support.
- Coordinate with software vendors for issue resolution and system enhancements.
- Develop reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across business systems.
Network & Cybersecurity
- Design, maintain, and secure LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall infrastructure.
- Implement cybersecurity policies and monitor for threats.
- Manage antivirus solutions, endpoint protection, user access controls, and backup systems.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and disaster recovery planning.
Manufacturing & Plant IT
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of IT systems supporting production, weighbridge, billing, dispatch, and inventory.
- Coordinate with automation teams for PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial network integration where applicable.
- Support digitalization initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
User Support & Helpdesk
- Lead IT support for all departments.
- Establish IT service standards and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Manage IT assets, software licensing, and inventory.
Digital Transformation
- Identify opportunities to automate manual business processes.
- Evaluate and implement AI tools, workflow automation, and cloud technologies.
- Drive paperless operations and process optimization initiatives.
Vendor & Budget Management
- Manage relationships with IT vendors, software providers, and service partners.
- Prepare annual IT budgets and monitor technology expenditures.
- Negotiate software licenses and annual maintenance contracts.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain IT documentation, network diagrams, SOPs, asset registers, and backup records.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and applicable data protection requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, networking, virtualization, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity.
- Experience with ERP systems used in manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of industrial IT systems and automation is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in manufacturing or steel industry.
- Knowledge of SQL databases and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, industrial networking, and IoT systems.
- Experience implementing cybersecurity frameworks.
- Exposure to AI tools, business automation platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- IT system uptime above 99%.
- Average IT issue resolution time within defined SLAs.
- Zero major cybersecurity incidents.
- Successful completion of IT projects within budget and timeline.
- ERP system availability and user satisfaction.
- Regular and successful backup and disaster recovery testing.
- Reduction in manual processes through automation.
- Compliance with IT policies and software licensing requirements.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position based at M R Enterprises, Bhilai.
- Availability outside standard working hours for critical system failures or planned maintenance.
- Occasional travel to plant locations, branch offices, or vendor sites as required.
