Job Title: Input Incharge
Department: Stores / Production Planning
Reports To: Factory Manager / Production Manager
Job Summary
The Input Incharge is responsible for managing all incoming materials, including fabrics, trims, accessories, and packing materials. The role ensures timely availability of production inputs, maintains inventory accuracy, prevents material shortages, and supports uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive fabrics, trims, accessories, and packing materials from suppliers.
- Verify received materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, and invoices.
- Inspect materials for quantity, quality, shade, width, GSM, and visible defects.
- Maintain proper storage and identification of all materials.
- Issue materials to the Cutting, Production, and Finishing departments as per approved requisitions.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain minimum and maximum inventory limits.
- Maintain accurate stock registers, ERP, or inventory management system records.
- Perform periodic stock verification and physical inventory audits.
- Coordinate with the Purchase, Stores, Quality, and Production departments for timely material availability.
- Report shortages, excess stock, damaged materials, or discrepancies to management.
- Ensure proper handling and preservation of fabrics and accessories to minimize damage and wastage.
- Monitor fabric roll balance and accessory consumption.
- Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO practices where applicable.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and material consumption reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, buyer requirements, and inventory control policies.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the input store.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Textile, Apparel, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in garment stores, inventory, or materials management.
- Experience with garment manufacturing processes and material flow.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of garment fabrics, trims, and accessories.
- Inventory management and stock control.
- ERP/MIS and MS Excel proficiency.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.
Working Conditions
- Based in the garment factory stores/input section.
- Frequent coordination with Purchase, Warehouse, Cutting, Production, Quality, and Merchandising teams.
- May require extended working hours during peak production periods.

This job description is suitable for woven, knitwear, and apparel manufacturing units and can be adapted based on the size and operational requirements of the factory.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
