Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant with 2–4 years of experience to join our civil construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, processing invoices, managing vendor payments, assisting with statutory compliance, and ensuring accurate project cost tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial transactions.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Verify and record vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment vouchers.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and ledger reconciliations.
- Track project-related expenses and maintain project-wise cost records.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Handle GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Monitor outstanding payments and coordinate with vendors and clients.
- Maintain proper documentation of financial records and supporting documents.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Coordinate with project managers, procurement teams, and site staff regarding accounting matters.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime/ERP and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in construction project accounting.
- Knowledge of vendor payment processing and cost control.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
