Job Description – Senior Purchase Engineer
Position: Senior Purchase Engineer
Location: Navi Mumbai
Experience: 6–10 Years
Industry: Machine Tool Manufacturing / Heavy Engineering / Industrial Automation
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial machine components.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Float RFQs, obtain quotations, perform techno-commercial evaluations, and negotiate pricing.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per project and production requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, fabricated parts, bought-out components, and consumables.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Planning, Stores, and Quality departments for material requirements.
- Track supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality compliance.
- Develop alternate vendors to optimize cost, quality, and lead time.

- 6–10 years of procurement experience in machine tool manufacturing, heavy engineering, industrial automation, capital equipment, or machinery manufacturing companies.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Experience handling technical purchases for project-based manufacturing environments.
