Brief about Project:
The DISPELL Project aims to strengthen the continuum of care for persons affected by Leprosy and Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) through early detection, treatment support, disability prevention, rehabilitation, referral services, and community-based interventions. The project seeks to improve access to quality healthcare services and enhance the quality of life of affected individuals through comprehensive care and coordinated service delivery. This position will support the functioning of the Referral Centre and ensure effective implementation of project activities in Vijayawada
Job Description:
- Conduct door-to-door screening and identification of persons affected by Leprosy and Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) in project intervention areas.
- Facilitate early detection and timely referral of suspected cases to health facilities and the Referral Centre.
- Support beneficiaries in accessing diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care, and rehabilitation services.
- Conduct regular home visits for treatment follow-up, adherence monitoring, and disability prevention activities.
- Coordinate with ASHAs, ANMs, MPWs, Community Health Officers, and other frontline health workers for case identification and referral.
- Provide counselling and health education to beneficiaries and their family members regarding disease management, self-care practices, and treatment compliance.
- Mobilize communities for awareness activities, camps, screening drives, and project interventions.
- Collect field-level data and maintain accurate records of beneficiaries, referrals, follow-ups, and project activities.
- Ensure timely submission of reports and data to the Point Person of the Referral Centre.
- Support implementation of project activities and achievement of monthly targets within the assigned geography.
- Use Android-based applications and digital tools for data collection, reporting, and beneficiary tracking.
- Assist in monitoring and documentation of project indicators as required under the DISPELL Project.
Technical /Area of Expertise: Community Outreach, Door-to-Door Screening, Case Identification and Referral, Community Mobilization, Health Education and Counselling, Beneficiary Follow-up, Data Collection, Digital Reporting, Leprosy and LF Programme Implementation..
Experience (In Yrs and Months): 1–3 years
Total: 1 year in similar post Relevant: Experience in community health programmes, public health projects, NTD programmes, outreach activities, social work, or community-based interventions will be preferred
Education qualification required: +2/graduate in any discipline from a recognized institution.
Preferred:
- Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Rural Development, Public Health, Community Health, or related field.
- Experience working with Leprosy, Lymphatic Filariasis, disability, or community-based health programmes.
