Job Overview
Speedways Electric is seeking an experienced Production Head to lead operations at our primary manufacturing facility in Jalandhar. You will oversee end-to-end production of our electric vehicle lineup—including golf carts, vintage buggies, campus shuttles, utility carts, and in-house battery/component assembly. The ideal candidate will optimize plant efficiency, ensure zero-defect output, streamline supply chains, and scale output to meet growing domestic and export demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Operations & Output: Manage daily assembly line operations, metal fabrication, chassis assembly, wiring/harness integration, painting, and final vehicle testing.
- Production Planning & Control (PPC): Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with sales orders, custom builds, and export deadlines.
- Quality Control & Standards: Implement strict QC gates across raw materials, battery integration, electrical systems, and finished vehicle trials to ensure zero-defect deliveries.
- Process Optimization (Lean/5S): Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen principles to minimize material waste, reduce cycle times, and increase assembly line throughput.
- Supply Chain & Inventory Management: Coordinate closely with procurement and stores for timely vendor delivery of motors, controllers, batteries, and raw materials to avoid assembly line downtime.
- Maintenance & Safety: Ensure preventive maintenance of plant machinery and enforce strict workplace safety protocols across shop floor staff.
- Team Leadership: Manage shop floor engineers, supervisors, technicians, and skilled workers; lead skill development and workforce productivity.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in automobile assembly, EV production, tractors, commercial vehicles, or heavy engineering equipment (min. 3–5 years in a managerial/head role).
- Technical Knowledge: Hands-on expertise in vehicle assembly, mechanical fabrication, electrical wiring, powertrain integration, and battery pack assembly.
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Automobile Engineering.
- Operations Expertise: Deep knowledge of PPC, Quality Assurance, ISO standards, and Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Leadership & Location: Proven ability to manage a 50+ shop floor workforce; candidate must be based in or willing to relocate to Jalandhar, Punjab.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
