We are looking for an experienced and passionate Commis 1 – Continental Chef to join our kitchen team in Mohali. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of Continental cuisine, strong food preparation skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Continental dishes as per the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards.
- Handle the assigned kitchen section independently under the guidance of the senior chef.
- Assist in preparing pasta, salads, sandwiches, soups, sauces, breakfast items, grills, and other Continental dishes.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, taste, and consistency of all dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and workstation.
- Follow food safety, storage, and FIFO procedures.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours.
- Minimise food wastage and ensure proper utilisation of ingredients.
- Assist in stock checking and informing senior chefs about ingredient requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Commis 1 or Commis 2 in Continental cuisine.
- Good knowledge of Continental cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Good teamwork, discipline, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays.
