Product Owner with Payment Domain (US Market) Role Overview - We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner with strong expertise in the Payment Gateway domain, particularly within the US payments ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of how payment gateways, payment processors, check processing, card networks, acquiring banks, and merchants interact to facilitate secure and compliant payment transactions. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, architects, QA teams, and external payment partners to define product strategy, prioritize requirements, and deliver scalable payment solutions. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership - Own and manage the product backlog for payment gateway initiatives. Gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements from internal and external stakeholders. Define clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements. Work closely with engineering teams throughout the SDLC. Drive product roadmap planning and execution. Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives. Payment Gateway Domain Expertise Understand end-to-end payment processing flows within the US market. Define and enhance payment gateway capabilities, including: Authorization Capture Settlement Refunds Voids Chargebacks Recurring payments Tokenization Fraud management. Collaborate with payment processors, acquirers, and third-party payment providers. Support integration efforts with payment networks and merchant platforms. Good to have Experience with Gateway platform migration/modernization and legacy decommissioning. Ability to perform Feature-parity analysis and plan phased migration. Good to have Technical Responsibilities- Translate business requirements into technical solutions. Work with architects and engineering teams on API-driven payment solutions. Understand microservices-based architectures and cloud-native payment platforms. Review technical designs and ensure alignment with business objectives. Drive API strategy and integration requirements. Stakeholder Management Partner with business, operations, compliance, risk, and engineering teams. Communicate product vision, priorities, and progress to stakeholders. Manage dependencies across multiple teams and vendors. Required Domain Knowledge Understanding of How Payment Gateways Work in the US The candidate should have strong knowledge of the complete payment transaction lifecycle: Payment Flow Customer initiates payment on a website or mobile application. Should be aware of the Agile practices.
