Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lab Head – Consultant Pathologist to lead our Pune laboratory. In this role, you will oversee clinical reporting, laboratory quality systems, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while mentoring the laboratory team and driving continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and authorize diagnostic reports across Hematology, Clinical Pathology, Biochemistry, and related disciplines.
- Lead the laboratory's quality management system, ensuring compliance with NABL and ISO 15189 standards.
- Monitor Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assurance (EQAS) programs.
- Represent the laboratory during NABL assessments, audits, and accreditation activities.
- Validate new tests, instruments, and laboratory processes before implementation.
- Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to laboratory technicians and operational teams.
- Collaborate with clinicians and healthcare partners to resolve diagnostic queries and maintain high clinical standards.
- Drive improvements in turnaround time (TAT), reporting accuracy, and overall laboratory performance.
- Work closely with operations and leadership teams to ensure efficient laboratory functioning.
Eligibility
- MD in Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Valid Medical Council registration.
- 2–5 years of experience in a diagnostic laboratory or hospital pathology department.
- Strong knowledge of NABL accreditation, ISO 15189, and laboratory quality management systems.
- Proven leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
