# Job Description: Café Housekeeping Staff

## Role Summary
The Housekeeping Staff member is responsible for keeping the café clean, hygienic, safe, and welcoming for customers and employees. This role includes regular cleaning of dining areas, washrooms, service counters, kitchen support areas, floors, furniture, and waste-disposal points, while following food-safety and hygiene standards.
## Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain customer seating areas, tables, chairs, windows, doors, and café fixtures throughout the shift.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors in dining, counter, kitchen-support, storage, and entrance areas.
- Clear used utensils, trays, tissues, and waste from tables promptly; coordinate with service staff when needed.
- Maintain washrooms to a high hygiene standard, including cleaning toilets, washbasins, mirrors, floors, dispensers, and door handles.
- Refill soap, sanitizer, tissue paper, toilet rolls, handwash, and other washroom supplies as required.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch points such as menus, counters, handles, switches, payment areas, and railings.
- Assist with dishwashing, utensil cleaning, and back-of-house cleaning when assigned.
- Segregate and dispose of wet waste, dry waste, glass, and food waste according to café procedures.
- Ensure dustbins are emptied regularly, cleaned, relined, and kept covered.
- Report spills, breakages, pest activity, plumbing issues, damaged furniture, low supplies, and safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.
- Follow opening, mid-shift, and closing cleaning checklists.
- Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, gloves, masks, and other protective items safely.
- Support periodic deep-cleaning activities, including kitchen surfaces, refrigerators’ exterior surfaces, exhaust surroundings, storerooms, and hard-to-reach areas.
- Maintain a neat personal appearance, clean uniform, and professional behavior with customers and colleagues.
- Assist the café team during busy hours with basic non-food-preparation tasks as instructed.
## Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping, café, restaurant, hotel, retail, or facility cleaning is preferred.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and safe cleaning practices.
- Ability to use mops, vacuum cleaners, cleaning chemicals, and basic cleaning tools correctly.
- Physically fit to stand for long hours, bend, lift light-to-moderate items, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Punctual, dependable, disciplined, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Basic Hindi required; basic English is an advantage.
- Ability to follow instructions and work respectfully as part of a team.
## Preferred Candidate Profile
- 18 years or older.
- Resident of Gurgaon, Delhi NCR, or able to commute reliably to the café location.
- Prior experience in food-service environments is an advantage.
- Positive attitude, good personal hygiene, and customer-friendly manner.
- Willingness to learn café-specific cleaning and food-safety procedures.
## Working Conditions
- Shift-based work, generally 8–9 hours per shift, depending on café operating hours.
- Weekly off as per company policy.
- Work involves standing, walking, cleaning, waste handling, and occasional lifting.
- Uniform and necessary protective equipment will be provided by the employer.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹13,000.00 per month
