CNC Operator cum Programmer – Turning (Surgical Equipment & Instruments)

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled CNC Operator cum Programmer (Turning) to operate and program CNC lathe machines for manufacturing precision surgical and ophthalmic instruments in Stainless Steel and Titanium. The candidate should have strong knowledge of turning operations, programming, tooling, and quality control for small and high-precision components.
Key ResponsibilitiesCNC Operation & Programming
- Set up and operate CNC Turning (Lathe) machines
- Prepare and edit programs using G-code / M-code
- Read and understand engineering drawings
- Select proper cutting tools, inserts, and workholding
- Optimize cutting parameters for SS & Titanium
Machining & Production
- Perform turning, facing, grooving, drilling, and profiling operations
- Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish required for medical instruments
- Ensure burr-free and defect-free parts
- Achieve production targets with minimal rejection
Quality Control
- Measure parts using Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Profile Projector
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish
- Follow inspection plans and quality standards
- Maintain job cards and production records
Machine & Tool Care
- Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning
- Monitor tool wear and replace inserts
- Maintain proper coolant levels and machine condition
Safety & Compliance
- Follow ISO / medical manufacturing standards
- Maintain clean and organized workplace
- Follow safety rules and PPE requirements
Qualification & SkillsEducation
- ITI / Diploma in CNC Machining / Mechanical / Tool & Die (CAM Programmer not preffered)
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years experience in CNC Turning
- Experience in surgical / medical / precision components preferred
Technical Skills
- CNC Turning machine operation
- G-code programming
- Drawing reading
- Tool selection (inserts for SS & Titanium)
- Precision measurement
