About FD Design
FD Design is a multidisciplinary architecture and interior design practice based in Naraina Vihar, New Delhi. Established in 2000, the firm works across premium residences, housing, hospitality, commercial developments and interior projects.
We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor who can monitor construction and interior execution, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and maintain regular communication between the site and the design office.
The role requires regular travel to project sites across Delhi NCR and nearby locations that can generally be covered through same-day visits.
Job Description
The Site Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring day-to-day construction and interior work at project sites.
The person should be able to understand drawings, inspect workmanship, coordinate with contractors and vendors, identify site issues and report progress clearly to the project architects and principals.
This is a field-based role. Candidates should be comfortable travelling regularly and spending full working days at project sites when required.
Key Responsibilities and KRAs
1. Site Supervision
- Monitor construction, finishing and interior work at project sites
- Check execution against approved drawings and specifications
- Review dimensions, levels, alignments and basic workmanship
- Identify visible defects, incomplete work and deviations from drawings
- Ensure corrective work is followed up with the concerned contractor
- Maintain awareness of the daily work programme and site priorities
2. Contractor and Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with civil contractors, interior contractors, fabricators and specialist vendors
- Communicate drawings, site requirements and instructions clearly
- Follow up on labour deployment, materials and pending activities
- Coordinate the sequence of work between different agencies
- Report delays, coordination gaps and unresolved issues to the office
- Assist vendors during measurements, installation and inspection
3. Drawing and Specification Understanding
- Read architectural and interior working drawings
- Refer to plans, elevations, sections and details during execution
- Check that the correct drawings and revisions are being followed
- Clarify drawing-related doubts with the project architect before execution
- Maintain relevant drawings and instructions at the site
- Prevent execution based on outdated or unapproved drawings
4. Quality Monitoring
- Check the quality of civil, finishing and interior work
- Monitor masonry, plaster, flooring, ceiling, painting, stone, woodwork and related activities
- Check materials delivered at site against approved samples or specifications
- Report poor workmanship, damaged materials or unauthorised substitutions
- Assist the project team in conducting stage-wise quality reviews
5. Progress Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare regular site progress reports
- Share clear photographs and videos of ongoing work
- Record work completed, work in progress and pending decisions
- Maintain a list of site instructions and unresolved issues
- Report material shortages, labour shortages and delays promptly
- Record important measurements and site conditions when required
6. Material and Quantity Coordination
- Check basic material quantities and site requirements
- Verify material delivery against challans or approved orders where required
- Assist in checking contractor or vendor work quantities
- Monitor proper storage and handling of materials
- Report wastage, shortages or misuse of materials
- Coordinate material requirements with the office and concerned vendors
7. Site Meetings and Follow-up
- Attend site meetings with architects, consultants, contractors and vendors
- Record decisions and follow up on assigned actions
- Prepare the site before scheduled review visits
- Ensure that earlier instructions are acted upon
- Escalate critical execution or coordination issues without delay
Required Experience and Skills
- Approximately 3 to 8 years of relevant site supervision experience
- Experience in residential, interior, commercial or hospitality projects
- Practical understanding of civil construction and interior finishing work
- Ability to read architectural and interior working drawings
- Experience coordinating with contractors, labour teams and vendors
- Basic knowledge of materials, measurements and construction processes
- Ability to identify visible defects and execution deviations
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, WhatsApp and email
- Ability to prepare clear written and photographic progress reports
- Responsible, organised and willing to follow up consistently
- Comfortable working independently at project sites
- Willingness to travel regularly to sites across Delhi NCR and nearby locations
Suitable Professional Backgrounds
Applications are welcome from candidates with:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Construction supervision experience
- Interior site supervision experience
- Experience with architecture or interior design firms
- Experience with civil contractors, turnkey contractors or fit-out companies
A degree is desirable but not mandatory. Relevant site experience, drawing understanding, practical knowledge and reliability will be given greater importance.

Compensation
₹30,000 to ₹45,000 per month, depending on experience, technical knowledge, site-handling capability and performance during the selection process.
Travel expenses for approved project-site visits will be reimbursed as per company policy.
