About the Role
Own end-to-end regulatory compliance for the broking business, translating SEBI/Exchange/Depository regulations into robust internal processes, and act as a key advisor to senior management on regulatory risk. Lead the compliance team's daily operations while driving process, audit, and reporting excellence.
What you'll own:
- Own overall regulatory compliance for the broking and DP business under SEBI (Stock Brokers & DP Regulations), PMLA/AML-KYC, SEBI PIT Regulations, Cyber Security & Resilience Framework, Business Continuity requirements, and other applicable exchange/depository guidelines; interpret ambiguous or new regulations and recommend the organizational stance to senior management, Compliance Committee, and Board.
- Design and maintain the compliance risk-assessment framework and risk-based monitoring calendar; proactively escalate material regulatory risks, gaps, or breaches with recommended remediation.
- Lead, mentor, and build capability within the core compliance team, allocating work and supporting career development; serve as the senior point of contact for Exchanges, Depositories, and SEBI on escalations, inspections, and sensitive correspondence.
- Partner with Business, Risk, Legal, IT/InfoSec, and Operations to embed compliance-by-design into new products, processes, and system changes.
- Oversee tracking and interpretation of regulatory circulars, drive stakeholder discussions to assess impact, guide business requirement drafting for system/process changes, and own end-to-end implementation oversight through to closure.
- Ensure SOPs, policies, and trackers remain current and audit-ready; own accuracy and timeliness of all regulatory reports/submissions to SEBI, Exchanges, and Depositories, while driving periodic data analysis to proactively identify and close compliance gaps.
- Own end-to-end management of internal/external audits and regulatory inspections — planning, data collation/verification, submission, and observation responses — acting as primary point of contact for auditors/inspection officials, and presenting findings and risk themes to senior management and relevant committees.
- Own the compliance MIS framework, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting; use MIS/data trends to identify systemic issues and drive corrective action.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in compliance or regulatory affairs are a plus.
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within the financial sector
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act upon complex data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with regulatory bodies, auditors.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to enable working with various internal stakeholders
- Proficiency in using compliance tracking systems and other relevant software tools and understanding of system requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

- Experience with business requirement drafting and system implementation.
- Proven ability to handle audits and inspections successfully.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance
