We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security F5 LB L2 Engineer to join our dynamic team, specifically supporting our critical infrastructure within a regulated environment (RBI). The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing Level 2 operational support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for our F5 BIG-IP load balancing and security platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of F5 BIG-IP modules, network security principles, and a proactive approach to ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our applications and services. The engineer will play a crucial role in incident resolution, problem management, and implementing changes in a complex and secure environment.
- Provide Level 2 operational support for F5 BIG-IP LTM (Local Traffic Manager), GTM (Global Traffic Manager)/DNS, ASM (Application Security Manager), AFM (Advanced Firewall Manager), and APM (Access Policy Manager) modules.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex incidents related to F5 BIG-IP devices, network connectivity, application performance, and security policies.
- Implement, configure, and maintain F5 BIG-IP policies, virtual servers, pools, iRules, and security profiles in accordance with established best practices and security standards.
- Monitor the health, performance, and security posture of F5 BIG-IP devices and associated applications using various monitoring tools and dashboards.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely resolution for critical production issues, ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Collaborate with Level 1 support, Level 3 engineering, network, application, and security teams to resolve complex issues and implement new solutions.
- Execute planned maintenance activities, including software upgrades, patches, and hardware replacements for F5 BIG-IP platforms.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., RBI guidelines), and change management processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation of routine tasks and contribute to scripting efforts (e.g., Python, Bash) to improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of F5 BIG-IP configurations to enhance application delivery and security.
- Assist in security audits and provide necessary data and explanations regarding F5 configurations and policies.
