The SCADA Design Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems that optimize the performance of renewable energy projects, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency.

Develop and design SCADA systems tailored to renewable energy applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the SCADA systems meet project requirements and industry standards.
Conduct system testing and validation to ensure reliability and performance of the SCADA infrastructure.
Job Responsibility:
SCADA System Design & Architecture-
Develop SCADA system architecture for solar, wind, and hybrid power plants
Design plant monitoring systems (PMS) and integrate with central SCADA
Define communication architecture (fiber optics, Ethernet, wireless where applicable)
Prepare control philosophy and functional design specifications (FDS)
Prepare IO list and BOQ
Cable schedule and routing layout for communication cables (OFC, Modbus, CAT-6A, Control cables etc.)
Preparing Technical specifications.
Reviewing vendors’ technical proposals and Preparing Technical Evaluation report.
Integration & Interface Management-
Integrate SCADA systems with:
Inverters, weather stations, meters, protection relays
Substation automation systems (SAS)
Grid operator / SLDC / RLDC interfaces
Ensure compatibility with protocols such as Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, OPC UA, OPC DA, DNP3, CAN Protocol
Cybersecurity and networking knowledge
Engineering & Documentation
Review and approval:
SCADA network diagrams
I/O lists and tag mapping
Control schematics and wiring diagrams
Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and local grid codes
Develop FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) procedures
Commissioning & Support:
Oversee SCADA system, Telemetry, FOTE, FAS, PLCC, EMS commissioning and validation
Troubleshoot communication and integration issues
Ensure data accuracy, system reliability, and cybersecurity compliance.
