Nursing Manager – Psychiatric Hospital
About the Role
Mind and Brain Hospital is seeking an experienced and responsible Nursing Manager to lead and supervise the nursing department in our psychiatric healthcare setting. The candidate will be responsible for managing nursing operations, ensuring quality patient care, supervising nursing staff, and maintaining clinical and operational standards within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage daily nursing operations within the psychiatric hospital
- Monitor quality of patient care and ensure adherence to hospital protocols and nursing standards
- Coordinate with psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams for effective patient management
- Prepare nursing duty rosters and manage staff scheduling
- Train, guide, and evaluate nursing staff performance
- Ensure proper documentation, medication administration, and patient safety practices
- Handle patient care escalations, emergency situations, and nursing-related concerns
- Maintain infection control, safety, and compliance standards
- Monitor nursing inventory, medical supplies, and equipment usage
- Conduct regular nursing audits, meetings, and performance reviews
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff
- Ensure proper communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams
Qualifications
- B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing
- Karnataka Nursing Council registration mandatory
- Additional psychiatric nursing experience or certification preferred
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospital nursing
- Experience in psychiatric or mental healthcare settings preferred
- Prior team handling or supervisory experience will be an added advantage
Skills Required
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of psychiatric patient care and hospital operations
- Ability to handle critical situations and staff coordination
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
