Position Title: Junior Baker
Brand: Dom’s Bakehouse (A sandwich deli and bakehouse under Glaze Food Craft LLP)
Reporting To: Founder and Head Chef
Position Overview:
The Junior Baker will be responsible for learning all baking and pastry operations at Dom’s Bakehouse, ensuring the highest standards of product quality, consistency, and creativity. This role requires a strong foundation in artisanal bread-making, infused breads, pastries, etc. The Head Baker will collaborate closely with the culinary team to support menu innovation, recipe development, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bread & Pastry Production: Oversee daily production of breads, viennoiserie, and pastries, maintaining quality and consistency across all products.
- Quality & Consistency: Implement strict quality control procedures for all bakery products, ensuring adherence to taste, texture, and presentation standards.
- Menu Collaboration: Work with the culinary and café team to develop bakery-led menu items, seasonal offerings, and innovative pairings.
- Inventory & Cost Management: Manage ingredient sourcing, storage, and inventory to maintain optimal cost control and minimize waste.
- Team Management: Train and lead the bakery team, fostering a culture of precision, creativity, and efficiency.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Enforce compliance with food safety, sanitation, and FSSAI standards across all baking operations.
- Operational Efficiency: Optimize production schedules, ensure smooth coordination with procurement and service teams, and maintain equipment health.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of professional baking experience preferably in an artisanal or café bakery environment. or relevant bakery and pastry education or specialistion.
- Proven knowledge in bread-making, laminated pastries, and confectionery production.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and mentoring skills.
- Knowledge of ingredient functionality, fermentation techniques, and modern baking equipment.
- A passion for quality, innovation, and maintaining brand excellence.
