Job Title: Communications Lead
Role Summary
The Communications Lead will be responsible for shaping and driving the organization's communication strategy to strengthen brand visibility, support fundraising efforts, and position the organization as a leader in ecological restoration and community development. The role will oversee all internal and external communications, manage the in-house communications team and external agencies, ensure consistency across communication channels, and create compelling narratives that translate impact into meaningful engagement with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Communications Strategy & Brand Positioning
- Develop and drive the organization's communications strategy to strengthen brand visibility, thought leadership, and fundraising outcomes.
- Position the organization as a leading voice in ecological restoration, community development, and sustainability through strategic storytelling and external engagement.
- Identify opportunities to differentiate the organization's work and impact within the sector.
- Ensure consistent brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity across all communication channels.
Fundraising, Donor & Leadership Communications
- Develop high-quality communication assets that support fundraising efforts, including donor presentations, partnership decks, impact reports, case studies, concept notes, annual reports, and organizational briefs.
- Work closely with the fundraising and leadership teams to create compelling communication materials for donor meetings, conferences, external engagements, and strategic partnerships.
- Manage donor communications and support relationship-building through timely and impactful communication.
- Ensure communication outputs effectively translate impact into narratives that inspire donor confidence and support resource mobilization.
- Develop communication materials that can be readily used by the fundraising and leadership teams during external engagements and strategic discussions.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead and mentor the in-house communications team, including designers, content creators, social media personnel, and other communications resources.
- Build the communication capabilities of regional and program teams through training, guidance, and communication toolkits.
- Establish systems for timely collection of stories, photographs, videos, impact data, and program updates from field teams.
- Enable regional teams to effectively support communication requirements by providing templates, processes, and ongoing support.
Vendor & Agency Management
- Manage external agencies, consultants, photographers, videographers, designers, digital marketing partners, and content creators engaged for communication assignments.
- Develop clear briefs, oversee deliverables, ensure quality standards, and manage timelines and budgets for outsourced communication projects.
Content Development & Storytelling
- Craft compelling impact stories, case studies, donor narratives, and thought leadership content from field insights and program data.
- Translate technical and programmatic information into engaging content suitable for donors, partners, media, and the public.
- Develop infographics, visual summaries, presentations, videos, and communication collateral for fundraising and public engagement.
- Lead the creation of multimedia content, including short-form videos, campaign films, event highlights, and digital storytelling assets.
Brand Governance & Asset Management
- Ensure consistency in tone, messaging, design, and visual identity across all organizational collateral.
- Maintain and regularly update communication assets, including presentations, brochures, videos, photographs, case studies, website content, and brand resources.
- Establish quality assurance processes to ensure all external-facing materials meet organizational standards.
- Ensure communication repositories and asset libraries remain current and easily accessible.
Digital Presence & Reputation Management
- Oversee the organization's website, newsletters, social media platforms, and digital campaigns.
- Develop and manage communication calendars aligned with fundraising, donor reporting, campaigns, and organizational priorities.
- Monitor communication performance and recommend improvements to enhance engagement, visibility, and donor outreach.
- Support leadership in strengthening the organization's external profile and reputation.
Events & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead communication planning and execution for donor visits, field immersions, campaigns, conferences, and key organizational events.
- Manage event-related communication materials, presentations, media assets, and stakeholder engagement requirements.
- Support donor engagement initiatives through effective communication before, during, and after events.

Experience
- 7–12 years of experience in communications, branding, fundraising communications, public relations, or related fields.
- Prior experience in the development sector, social impact organizations, foundations, CSR, sustainability, or allied sectors preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in developing communication strategies, managing teams, agencies, and supporting fundraising or stakeholder engagement efforts.
- Strong portfolio showcasing donor communication materials, campaigns, reports, branding initiatives, and multimedia content.

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
