YOUR TASKS

The responsibilities include developing and verifying the mechanical design article through simulations, tolerance calculations, and characteristic-based feasibility studies; qualifying components; and evaluating mechanical design requirements.

It also involves creating the mechanical design performance specification, defining dimensional requirements for parts, sub-assemblies, and the complete device, and ensuring alignment with general technical rules.

Additional tasks include initiating product cost calculations, defining and planning design verification samples, evaluating verification results, and providing the necessary data for assessment.

Supporting FMEA activities and integrating its results into the design, informing the core team of BOM and cost-related changes, conducting involvement and definition meetings, and assigning a Patent Instructor to analyze the patent situation are also essential parts of the process.

Create single part Sub assembles adhering to DFM (manufacturability and surface treatment) DFA with confirmation of Datum system (RPS) and tolerances with focus on all tolerance critical components and subassemblies inside the product.

Able to handle design topics single handedly mostly in few cases along with Lead designer: styling, A-surfaces frozen, parting lines on lens accepted, B-surfaces (visible surfaces - > bezel, reflector) defined unavoidable decorative defects (Sink marks, weld lines ...) cold/warm design inkl. light leakage, package and car body assembly, serviceability, accessibility of aiming and connectors, datum system, and tolerances if applicable: repair holder / brackets and service parts.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Tool and Die Engineering

BE/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Post Diploma in Plastic Mold Design/ Diploma in Plastics Mold Making (CIPET ) /Post Diploma in relevant Tool and Die (NTTF).

7-12 Years but not More than 12 years in Lighting Related Part Design Experience

Experience in CATIA V5

Mold flow communicator experience may be added advantage

Knowledge in MS Power Point, Excel etc.

Should be proficient enough in English Communication (oral and written)
