Travel Consultant – Job Description
A Travel Consultant helps clients plan and book travel experiences, including flights, accommodations, transportation, and activities. They provide expert advice, create customized itineraries, and ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget
- Research and recommend destinations, hotels, flights, and tour packages
- Plan and organize complete travel itineraries
- Book flights, accommodations, car rentals, and other travel services
- Provide information on visas, travel insurance, and entry requirements
- Handle travel changes, cancellations, and emergencies
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and travel suppliers
- Stay updated on travel trends, deals, and industry regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities
- Knowledge of travel booking systems (e.g., GDS like Amadeus, Sabre)
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple bookings
- Sales and negotiation skills
- Basic knowledge of geography and international travel regulations
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in tourism, hospitality, or related field
- Previous experience in travel, tourism, or customer service is preferred
