QUALITY IN-CHARGE (QA/QC/FOOD SAFETY) – ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
· Implement and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems across the manufacturing facility.
· Ensure compliance with Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), GMP, GHP, HACCP, and applicable regulatory requirements.
· Conduct routine quality inspections of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
· Conduct QC testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, including moisture, pH, weight, sensory evaluation, packaging checks, and documentation review.
· Monitor and verify production processes to ensure product quality, safety, and consistency.
· Review and approve quality records, manufacturing records, and quality documentation.
· Handle non-conforming products, deviations, customer complaints, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
· Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality and food safety issues.
· Ensure proper sanitation, hygiene, housekeeping, and GMP practices are followed throughout the facility.
· Plan and conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and compliance assessments.
· Coordinate with Production, Procurement, R&D, Warehouse, and Dispatch teams on quality-related matters.
· Monitor pest control, water quality, environmental monitoring, and food safety programs.
· Manage calibration and verification of laboratory and production measuring instruments.
· Maintain product traceability, recall readiness, and document control systems.
· Provide food safety, hygiene, GMP, and quality training to employees.
· Review product specifications, labels, and packaging compliance requirements.
· Ensure adherence to company quality objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Support external audits, customer audits, certification audits, and regulatory inspections.
· Lead investigations related to product quality, foreign body complaints, contamination risks, and food safety incidents.
Desired Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of QA, QC, GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSMS, FSSAI requirements, and food safety regulations.
· Experience in handling audits, documentation, CAPA, and compliance activities.
· Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Strong communication and team coordination abilities.
· Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and quality documentation.
· Ability to work independently and lead quality initiatives.
Preferred Qualification
· B.Sc./M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Dairy Technology, or related field.
· 3–8 years of experience in Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Snacks, Bakery, Confectionery, or Nutraceutical industries.
· Certification/Training in HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, GMP, or Food Safety preferred.
