Job description
A detail-oriented Healthcare Data & Coding Analyst is required to join the revenue management and data integration team. The role focuses on translating, auditing, and mapping complex medical bills, procedures, and hospital chargemaster items into standard Industry Standard Codes.
Prior experience with specific UK insurance billing codes such as BUPA, AXA, or CCSD is not required. Full training will be provided on internal systems and mapping tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in human anatomy, clinical terminology, and pharmaceutical concepts, along with an analytical approach to applying structured classification logic across large datasets.
Key Responsibilities
- Structured Item Classification: Analyze incoming medical line items and categorize them into one of four core pillars: Prosthesis, Consumable, Drug, or Service.
- Logical ISC Mapping: Apply defined mapping rules based on category.
- Prosthesis and Consumables: Match items primarily by generic clinical description, using manufacturers and brands only as supporting references.
- Drugs: Match items strictly by generic drug name, formulation (for example tablet, injection, or cream), and exact strength or concentration.
- Data Quality and Integrity: Review hospital and clinic outputs, resolve ambiguity between brand names and generic descriptors, and ensure accurate, non-hallucinated data alignment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with the data operations team to refine mapping logic, reference files, and system master data, including updates.
Required Skills and Capabilities
- Deep Clinical Understanding: Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, medical procedures, and pharmacology, with the ability to understand clinical items directly from their descriptors.
- High Logical and Analytical Capability: Ability to follow multi-step, conditional logic workflows accurately and consistently.
- Attention to Detail: Strong pattern recognition skills, including the ability to distinguish drug strengths, technical processing services, and sizing parameters relevant to ISC descriptions.
- Technical Literacy: Comfort working with large datasets, spreadsheets such as Excel and CSV, and internal mapping software.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in a healthcare-related field such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Biomedical Science, Physiotherapy, or a Master's in a life sciences discipline.
- Experience handling medical records, health insurance claims, or clinical trial data is an advantage, though not essential where clinical knowledge is strong.
- Familiarity with data manipulation concepts.
What We Offer
- Comprehensive training on UK private medical insurance frameworks, BUPA schedules, and specialized ISC directory structures.
- A structured, logic-driven working environment where technical accuracy and analytical stability are highly valued.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
