1. Job Purpose
The Safety Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements at façade, aluminium and glazing project sites. The role ensures that all site activities are executed safely, in compliance with company procedures, statutory requirements, client requirements and project-specific safety standards.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Site Safety Management
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and practices.
- Ensure compliance with approved HSE plans, method statements and risk assessments.
- Monitor façade installation, aluminium work, glazing, sealant work and associated activities.
- Ensure proper barricading, signage and access control at work areas.
- Maintain safe housekeeping and material storage at site.
B. Work at Height Safety
- Strictly monitor all façade and glazing activities involving work at height.
- Ensure proper use of full-body harnesses, lifelines, lifeline anchors and fall-arrest systems.
- Inspect scaffolding, ladders, mobile elevated work platforms and other access equipment.
- Ensure workers use approved platforms and access systems.
- Stop unsafe work immediately where there is a risk of fall or serious injury.
C. Façade & Glazing Safety
- Monitor lifting, shifting and installation of aluminium frames, glass panels and façade materials.
- Ensure safe glass handling and transportation procedures.
- Check lifting tools, slings, shackles, suction lifters and other equipment before use.
- Ensure exclusion zones are maintained during lifting and façade installation.
- Verify that workers use appropriate PPE for glass and aluminium handling.
D. Permit & Documentation
- Implement and monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
- Verify permits for hot work, work at height, lifting activities, electrical work and other high-risk activities.
- Maintain daily safety inspection reports and safety records.
- Prepare incident, near-miss and accident reports.
- Maintain training, toolbox talk and PPE inspection records.
E. Toolbox Talks & Training
- Conduct daily Toolbox Talks before commencement of work.
- Provide safety induction to new workers and subcontractors.
- Conduct awareness training on:
- Work at height
- Fall protection
- Glass handling
- Lifting operations
- Electrical safety
- Fire safety
- Emergency response
- PPE usage
- Promote a strong safety culture among site employees and subcontractors.
F. Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure emergency procedures are communicated to all workers.
- Maintain emergency contact information and evacuation procedures.
- Participate in mock drills and emergency response activities.
- Ensure first-aid facilities and fire extinguishers are available and accessible.
- Immediately report and investigate accidents and near misses.
3. Daily Safety Activities
The Safety Engineer shall ensure:
Morning
- Site safety inspection
- Toolbox Talk
- PPE verification
- Work-at-height inspection
- PTW verification
During Work
- Continuous monitoring of high-risk activities
- Scaffolding/access equipment checks
- Lifting operation monitoring
- Housekeeping inspection
- Correct unsafe practices immediately
End of Day
- Site closing inspection
- Material and glass storage check
- Electrical and fire-safety check
- Daily safety report
- Record observations and corrective actions
4. Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.
- Recognized safety qualification such as NEBOSH / IOSH / Diploma in Industrial Safety will be an advantage.
- Experience in façade, aluminium, glazing, construction or high-rise projects preferred.
- Knowledge of Indian construction safety requirements and applicable statutory regulations.
5. Experience
Preferred: 2–5 years of experience in construction/site safety, preferably in:
- Aluminium façade
- Structural glazing
- Curtain wall
- Window and door installation
- Glass installation
- High-rise building projects
- Scaffolding and work-at-height activities
6. Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of work-at-height safety.
- Risk assessment and hazard identification.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct safety training and toolbox talks.
- Incident investigation and reporting.
- Knowledge of PPE and fall-protection systems.
- Ability to coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and workers.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to stop unsafe work and enforce safety procedures.
7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Zero fatality / major accident.
- Reduction in unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- 100% toolbox talk compliance.
- 100% PPE compliance.
- 100% PTW compliance for high-risk activities.
- Timely closure of safety observations.
- Regular inspection of scaffolding and work-at-height systems.
- Completion of mandatory safety training.
- Timely submission of daily/weekly HSE reports.
8. Authority
The Safety Engineer has the authority to:
- Stop any unsafe work immediately.
- Reject unsafe PPE, tools or equipment.
- Restrict access to unsafe areas.
- Report repeated safety violations to management.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Escalate serious safety risks to the Project Manager / Management.

Pay: ₹15,198.47 - ₹44,377.04 per month
