About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and student-focused Academic Counsellor to guide prospective and current students in making informed decisions about their education and career paths. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a consultative approach, and the ability to manage leads, support admissions, and contribute to achieving monthly targets. The role also requires a willingness to support the marketing team by appearing in or assisting with basic brand video content.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel prospective students regarding courses, programs, and career opportunities
- Manage and follow up with leads generated through calls, website inquiries, and social media campaigns
- Handle inbound and outbound calls to convert inquiries into admissions
- Plan and coordinate student visits, campus tours, and counselling sessions
- Guide students through the complete admission process from inquiry to enrollment
- Maintain accurate records of leads, interactions, and follow-ups in CRM systems
- Support and contribute to monthly sales targets and admission goals
- Collaborate with marketing teams on online campaigns to improve lead generation
- Assist in creating marketing content, including participating in brand videos or promotional shoots when required
- Stay updated with course offerings, industry trends, and competitor institutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Education, Psychology, or related fields preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in academic counselling, admissions, or a related role
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and persuasion skills
- Experience in handling leads and converting them into admissions
- Ability to work in a target-driven environment
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and CRM tools
- Comfortable appearing in or contributing to basic video content for marketing purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the education or ed-tech industry
- Experience working with digital lead generation (social media, campaigns, etc.)
- Confidence in front of the camera or prior experience in content creation
