The Construction Manager – Roadworks & Bridges is responsible for the end-to-end management of infrastructure projects, roads, and bridge construction. The role includes overseeing planning, execution, budgeting, and quality control to ensure safe and timely project delivery in accordance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination
Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resources, materials, equipment, and manpower.
Coordinate with engineers and subcontractors.
Construction Execution & Oversight
Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring work aligns with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Supervise construction of roadways (e.g., earthworks, pavement, drainage, utilities) and bridge structures (e.g., piers, decks, abutments, girders).
Monitor and control progress, productivity, and quality across all stages of construction.
Budget & Cost Control
Prepare and manage project budgets and cost forecasts.
Validate and approve work orders, purchase requests, and contractor invoices.
Implement cost control measures to avoid budget overruns.
Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards and testing procedures (soil, concrete, asphalt, etc.).
Monitor construction methods for compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to enforce.
Stakeholder & Regulatory Management
Liaise with government bodies, local authorities, and regulatory agencies for permits and inspections.
Maintain strong communication with clients and project team members.
Provide periodic reports on project status, milestones, and issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
PMP certification or similar project management qualification is a plus.
Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in road and bridge construction project management.
Proven experience with government/municipal infrastructure projects .
Skills & Competencies:
Familiarity with bridge construction techniques (precast, cast-in-situ, segmental, etc.).
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Working Conditions:
Site-based role with regular field inspections and coordination meetings.
Must be willing to travel and work extended hours based on project demands.
Exposure to outdoor and construction site environments.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
