We are looking for a Microsoft Purview L2 Engineer to manage escalations, troubleshoot and optimize Microsoft Purview controls, support compliance investigations, mentor L1 analysts, and assist with DPDP Act control mapping for data governance, compliance, access control, and DLP use cases.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Purview DLP
- Microsoft Information Protection (MIP)
- Sensitivity Labels
- Audit and eDiscovery
- Retention Policies and Records Management
- Endpoint DLP
- Microsoft 365 Compliance Operations
The role requires the ability to translate privacy and compliance requirements into enforceable technical controls, governance frameworks, and operational runbooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage L2 support activities for Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 compliance solutions.
- Investigate and resolve escalated incidents related to DLP, data classification, retention, and insider risk/compliance events.
- Configure, tune, and optimize DLP policies, sensitivity labels, retention labels, and compliance controls.
- Support compliance investigations using Audit, Content Search, and eDiscovery tools.
- Assist in implementing and mapping controls aligned with the DPDP Act and organizational compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with security, legal, compliance, and IT teams to strengthen data governance posture.
- Develop SOPs, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
- Mentor and guide L1 analysts on operational processes and troubleshooting approaches.
- Monitor alerts, policy effectiveness, and compliance posture to recommend continuous improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–6 years of experience in Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance / Microsoft Purview.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Microsoft Purview DLP
- Endpoint DLP
- Sensitivity Labels & Information Protection
- Audit & eDiscovery
- Retention & Records Management
- Compliance Manager
- Good understanding of data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with DPDP Act requirements and compliance mapping.
- Experience in incident handling, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Entra ID integration is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate (SC-400)
- Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
- Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200) – preferred
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
