Job Summary
Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Eicher commercial vehicles to ensure maximum vehicle uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of Eicher trucks and commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, clutch, brake, suspension, steering, and electrical system issues.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and identify potential mechanical problems.
- Carry out periodic servicing, oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication activities.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic tools.
- Ensure vehicles comply with safety and roadworthiness standards.
- Maintain records of repairs, maintenance schedules, spare parts consumption, and service history.
- Coordinate with drivers and transport personnel regarding vehicle performance and repair requirements.
- Monitor vehicle condition and recommend major repairs or component replacements when required.
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the workshop area.
- Support emergency breakdown repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
Requirements
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in maintenance and repair of Eicher commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle electrical systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance documentation and spare parts management.
