Position description: The role involves managing and overseeing warehouse operations within the mining and metals sector at Jindal Stainless Limited. The officer will ensure efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of stainless steel products and raw materials, maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance with safety and quality standards. This position requires coordination with procurement, production, and logistics teams to optimize warehouse workflows, implement best practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, inventory control, and regulatory requirements specific to the metals industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage daily warehouse operations including receipt, storage, and dispatch of stainless steel products and raw materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems and conduct regular stock audits to ensure data integrity.
- Coordinate with procurement and production departments to align warehouse activities with production schedules and material requirements.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and compliance with industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization and improve material handling efficiency.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and operational standards.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with logistics and transportation teams to schedule timely dispatch and delivery of goods.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse operations and reduce costs.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with quality standards for all warehouse transactions.
