Research Analyst (Oncology) – Job Description

The Research Analyst is responsible for gathering and disseminating up-to-date industry and regulatory
information to our global consulting teams (primary focus: Oncology; adaptable to other therapy areas in future)
and supporting high-quality deliverables through accurate, timely research and synthesis.
Oncology-focused responsibilities
- Day-to-day, comprehensive monitoring of global industry, regulatory, financial and clinical sources/feeds
using a variety of secondary research resources for Oncology accounts/projects
- Extensive use of databases including clinical (TrialTrove, Pharmaprojects, Biopharm Insight, etc.), financial
and/or commercial sites (as applicable) and a full knowledge of their capabilities
- News monitoring (global): capture the latest breaking news as closely as possible to when it happens, with
emphasis on Oncology companies, assets, trials, approvals, and key milestones
- Reviewing and highlighting of earnings calls and investor relations (IR) events transcripts and slide
presentations by pharmaceutical firms focusing on items of interest to specific project needs
- Support landscape analyses (e.g., indications/competition, pipeline mapping, clinical development, key
events, and differentiators)
- Support pre-conference and post-conference reports from major oncology congresses (ASCO, ESMO, ASH)
- Apply foundational Oncology knowledge (cancer types, Lines of Therapy, NCCN guidelines and treatment
algorithms) to interpret and summarize information appropriately
- Demonstrate understanding of how regulatory bodies function and how Oncology clinical trials work
(phases, endpoints, comparators, eligibility), including the significance of key designations and regulatory
pathways
Core responsibilities (common across therapy areas)
- Setting of alerts in many resources as well as on Google and company websites
- Project team assignments that involve diversified therapy areas (Oncology priority; adaptable to other
therapy areas in future)
- Work in collaboration with US team members daily; maintain strong, proactive communication and timely
handoffs
- Collaborating with team members, helping ad hoc research requests involving in-depth searches
- Maintain project style, formatting, and consistency across deliverables and trackers
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel (including formulas)
- Participation for kickoff meetings and project update meetings (as needed) with clients or US team members
Requirements
- M.Pharm/B.Pharm, Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences
- Professional experience working on competitive intelligence, continuous monitoring, and healthcare
research with a focus on drugs
