Role SummaryThe Data Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the enterprise data architecture to ensure data is secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements. This role partners with business, security, analytics, and engineering teams to enable trusted data for operational, analytical, and cybersecurity use cases while ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and governance.Key ResponsibilitiesData Architecture & Design
Define and maintain enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Design data solutions across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, supporting operational, reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases.
Establish and enforce data standards, naming conventions, integration patterns, and reference architectures.
Data Platforms & Integration
Architect and oversee solutions for data ingestion, transformation, integration, and storage (e.g., data lakes, warehouses, streaming platforms).
Collaborate with application, integration, and platform teams to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable data flows.
Support integration with enterprise systems such as CMDBs, ERP, security platforms, cloud services, and analytics tools.
Governance, Security & Compliance
Ensure data architecture aligns with data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PII protection, access controls, auditability).
Partner with cybersecurity and risk teams to embed data protection, classification, lineage, and retention controls into designs.
Support governance forums with architecture artifacts, risk assessments, and decision documentation.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Delivery Enablement
Partner with business leaders, product owners, and technical teams to translate business needs into data architecture solutions.
Provide architectural guidance during FastPass, intake, or accelerated delivery initiatives, ensuring solutions meet enterprise standards without slowing execution.
Support delivery teams throughout design, build, and implementation phases.
Documentation & Standards
Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, data models, interface specifications, and reference documentation.
Contribute to enterprise architecture repositories and ensure artifacts are audit‑ready and reusable.
Drive continuous improvement of data architecture practices and tools.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture roles.
Strong experience with data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and integration patterns.
Hands‑on experience with cloud and enterprise data platforms.
Proven ability to work across complex, matrixed enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting cybersecurity, risk, or regulatory‑driven programs (e.g., vulnerability data, asset data, IAM, GRC).
Familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Kafka, Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Power BI, or similar.
Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage, and quality frameworks.
TOGAF, DAMA‑DMBOK, or cloud architecture certifications are a plus.
