JOB DESCRIPTION: HOSPITAL STORE KEEPER

3. Reports To: Store Manager / Purchase Manager / Hospital Administrator
4. Job Summary:
The Store Keeper is responsible for the efficient management of hospital inventory, including receipt, storage, and issue of medical and non-medical supplies. The role ensures proper stock control, documentation, and compliance with NABH standards to support uninterrupted patient care services.
5. Key Responsibilities:
A. Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming materials against purchase orders.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines, consumables, and equipment as per guidelines (FIFO/FEFO).
- Maintain stock levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure timely removal of near-expiry items.
B. Stock Issuance:
- Issue materials to departments based on authorized requisitions.
- Maintain proper records of stock movement (inward & outward).
- Ensure correct documentation for all stock transactions.
C. Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain stock registers, bin cards, and computerized inventory systems.
- Update daily stock entries accurately in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Prepare periodic stock reports (daily/weekly/monthly).
D. Coordination:
- Coordinate with purchase department for stock replenishment.
- Work with pharmacy, nursing, lab, and other departments for material requirements.
- Assist in vendor coordination during material receipt.
E. Compliance & Quality:
- Ensure adherence to NABH standards and hospital policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of store area.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
F. Safety & Security:
- Ensure safe handling and storage of materials.
- Prevent loss, damage, or pilferage of stock.
- Follow safety protocols for hazardous and medical supplies.
6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Accuracy of stock records
- Stock availability without shortages
- Reduction in wastage and expiry losses
- Timely issuance of materials
- Audit compliance and minimal discrepancies
7. Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Commerce / Logistics / Supply Chain)
- Experience: 1–3 years in hospital/store management
- Knowledge of inventory management systems / HIS
- Understanding of FIFO/FEFO methods
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, billing software)
8. Working Conditions:
- Hospital store environment
- May require shift duties
- Handling of medical and non-medical inventory
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
