Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Plumbing Engineer to oversee plumbing and firefighting works at construction sites. The candidate will be responsible for planning, execution, supervision, quality control, and timely completion of plumbing installations in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of plumbing and firefighting systems.
- Review plumbing drawings, specifications, BOQs, and shop drawings.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, HVAC, and architectural teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor daily site activities and ensure work is completed as per approved drawings and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections, pressure testing, hydro testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems.
- Verify material quality, quantities, and approve material requisitions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and clients for inspections and approvals.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to plumbing works.
- Ensure proper documentation, including work completion records, test reports, and as-built drawings.
- Monitor project costs and minimize material wastage.
- Support project handover by ensuring all plumbing systems are fully operational.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in plumbing works within the civil construction industry.
- Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of plumbing and firefighting systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of plumbing materials, pumps, STP, WTP, sump systems, and water supply networks.
- Familiarity with IS codes, NBC guidelines, and plumbing standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Good planning, coordination, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and team management abilities.
Preferred Knowledge
- Plumbing design and execution.
- Water supply and drainage systems.
- Firefighting systems (hydrant, sprinkler, hose reel).
- STP/WTP operations.
- Pump room installations.
- Rainwater harvesting systems.
