Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Ph.D. in any recognized discipline from a reputed university.
- Strong academic and research background with a proven record of publications, patents, funded projects, and scholarly contributions.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, or leadership roles in reputed universities/institutions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Dean – Research & Development / Associate Dean (R&D) / Director Research & Development in a recognized Higher Education Institution.
- Demonstrated experience in research management, project funding, innovation, intellectual property rights (IPR), and institutional research development.
- Candidates must fulfill UGC and other regulatory norms as applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for all research, innovation, consultancy, and development activities of the university.
- Develop and implement policies to strengthen the university's research ecosystem and academic excellence.
- Promote high-quality research publications in Scopus, Web of Science, UGC-CARE, and other reputed indexed journals.
- Facilitate and monitor research projects funded by government agencies, industry partners, and international organizations.
- Encourage faculty members and researchers to secure grants, fellowships, patents, copyrights, and consultancy projects.
- Establish collaborations with industries, research institutions, universities, and government organizations.
- Lead initiatives related to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patents, technology transfer, and innovation development.
- Monitor research productivity and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory research standards.
- Organize research conferences, seminars, workshops, FDPs, symposiums, and innovation programs.
- Develop strategies to improve the university's research rankings, citations, and academic reputation.
- Guide research centers, incubation initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, and innovation-driven programs.
- Prepare research reports, institutional rankings data, and documentation required for accreditation and quality assurance frameworks.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- Proven track record of securing research grants, funded projects, and consultancy assignments.
- Strong understanding of NAAC, NIRF, NEP 2020, research policies, and higher education quality frameworks.
- Experience in patent filing, IPR management, innovation ecosystems, and incubation support.
- Excellent leadership, strategic planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build national and international academic and research collaborations.
- Familiarity with research databases, plagiarism tools, academic ERP systems, and research analytics platforms.
- Strong mentoring skills for faculty researchers, Ph.D. scholars, and research teams.
Pay Scale
₹60,000 – ₹1,00,000 per month
