The Team Leader will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, optimization, and high availability of the ejabberd XMPP messaging infrastructure supporting the Sandes platform. The role also involves leading the migration of the existing End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) framework to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)-based algorithms to ensure future-ready secure messaging and audio/video communications.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. ejabberd XMPP Infrastructure
- Manage, administer, and maintain ejabberd XMPP server clusters deployed in Production and Staging environments.
- Monitor health, performance, and availability of multi-node ejabberd clusters.
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and load optimization based on user traffic.
- Configure clustering, federation, routing, and high availability for ejabberd deployments.
- Troubleshoot server, database, and network-related issues affecting messaging services.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Coordinate deployment, upgrades, patching, and configuration management of ejabberd infrastructure.
- Ensure high uptime, scalability, and security of messaging services.
B. Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) & Security
- Assess the existing End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) implementation used in messaging and audio/video calling.
- Design and implement migration of current cryptographic algorithms to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)-safe algorithms.
- Integrate NIST-approved PQC algorithms into the existing secure communication framework.
- Evaluate cryptographic protocols for confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and forward secrecy.
- Conduct security testing, cryptographic validation, and performance benchmarking.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices and emerging cryptographic standards.
C. Leadership & Coordination
- Lead technical activities related to messaging infrastructure and cryptographic enhancements.
- Provide technical guidance to development, DevOps, and operations teams.
- Prepare technical documentation, architecture documents, SOPs, and implementation plans.
- Coordinate with stakeholders for issue resolution, planning, and technology upgrades.
