Core Responsibilities
- Assessments: Conduct psychological, intellectual, and personality testing to evaluate patient needs.
- Diagnosis: Identify cognitive, emotional, or behavioral disorders using the DSM-5.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement customized, evidence-based psychotherapy plans for individuals, couples, or groups.
- Consultation: Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, physicians, and school administrators to provide holistic patient care.
- Progress Monitoring: Track client progress through regular sessions and adjust therapeutic methods as needed.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a master's or doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., Psy.D.) in psychology.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid, state or region-specific license to practice independently.
- Empathy & Communication: High degree of emotional intelligence, active listening, and strong ethical awareness to handle sensitive cases.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret assessment data and translate scientific literature into actionable treatments.
