Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems and equipment within the hospital premises. The role ensures uninterrupted power supply and safe electrical operations to support patient care and hospital services.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Maintain electrical panels, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and wiring systems.
- Monitor and maintain DG (Diesel Generator) sets and UPS systems.
- Ensure proper functioning of lighting systems, power outlets, and emergency lights.
- Attend electrical complaints and rectify issues promptly.
Equipment Support
- Assist in maintaining electrical connections for medical equipment.
- Coordinate with biomedical and maintenance teams during installation and repairs.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical care areas such as ICU, OT, Cath Lab, MRI, and Emergency Department.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all electrical safety standards and hospital policies.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify electrical hazards.
- Maintain proper earthing and electrical safety systems.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and safety guidelines.
Documentation
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records.
- Record daily electrical readings and equipment performance.
- Report major electrical faults and corrective actions to the Maintenance Manager.
Emergency Support
- Respond immediately to electrical emergencies and power failures.
- Support disaster management and emergency preparedness activities.
- Be available for shift duties and on-call emergency maintenance when required.
