SVL Studio Private Limited is a Mumbai-based luxury hand embroidery atelier — zardozi, aari work, beading, thread work, mirror work — exporting to fashion houses across Europe, the USA, and the Middle East. As our order book grows, we need a Merchandiser to own the full order lifecycle end-to-end: buyer enquiry through final dispatch. This is not a support role — you keep every promise SVL makes to its buyers. Reports directly to the Director.
What you'll own:
- Order management: cost sheets, tech packs, BOM, Time & Action (T&A) calendars circulated weekly
- Sample development: proto/fit/size-set approvals, pre-production (PP) meetings, strike-offs, embellishment cards
- Vendor management: POs, rate negotiation, daily follow-up, in-process QC at vendor premises
- Quality control: pre-shipment inspection against AQL standards, defect tracing, corrective action
- Inventory: tracking embroidery materials (threads, zardozi wire, beads, sequins, trims), indent planning
- Buyer communication: proactive status updates, 24-hour query response, export documentation accuracy
- Owning the OTIF (on-time-in-full) delivery metric and reporting it weekly
- Using tools like Canva AI, Copilot/Gemini for T&A tracking, and Claude/ChatGPT for buyer communication drafts (reviewed before sending)
Who we're looking for:
- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, or Textile Technology
- 2-4 years minimum in merchandising or production coordination at a garment export house, embroidery unit, or fashion manufacturer
- 5+ years in bridal/couture hand-embroidery export specifically will be considered for a senior, more autonomous band with direct buyer-relationship ownership
- Working knowledge of zardozi, aari work, beading, or thread work is a strong advantage
- Comfortable with Excel, export documentation basics, and design/presentation tools (Canva, CorelDRAW, Illustrator)
Compensation: ₹3-9 LPA depending on experience —
- 2-3 yrs, embroidery background: ₹3-4.5 LPA
- 3-5 yrs, export house with full T&A ownership: ₹4.5-6 LPA-
5+ yrs, bridal/couture export background: ₹6.5-9 LPA
EPF and ESIC included; paid leave
