Job Summary:
The Lab Assistant in Food Processing Technology and Management is responsible for providing comprehensive support in all laboratory-related academic and operational activities. The role involves assisting faculty members and students during practical sessions by preparing required materials, reagents, and food samples for experiments. The Lab Assistant operates, handles, and maintains all food processing and analytical equipment, ensuring their proper calibration, functionality, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist faculty and students during laboratory sessions in conducting practical experiments and demonstrations.
- Operate, handle, and maintain all food processing, analytical, and testing equipment in the department.
- Maintain records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and calibration data.
- Support faculty in academic activities, project work, and research-related experiments.
- Organize laboratory setups for practical classes, demonstrations, and student projects.
- Maintain proper documentation of student attendance, internal assessments, and lab utilization.
- Ensure safe labeling, storage, and disposal of samples, chemicals, and laboratory waste.
- Participate in workshops, training, and departmental academic activities as assigned.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to laboratory management and equipment safety.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, ISO, and FSSAI standards for laboratory operations and hygiene
- Maintain confidentiality of research data, results, and institutional property.
