The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring excellent guest service, efficient staff supervision, hygiene standards, and smooth service operations. The role is responsible for maintaining high service quality and guest satisfaction while assisting in achieving departmental sales and operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day restaurant operations.
- Ensure prompt, courteous, and professional service to all guests.
- Supervise restaurant staff during shifts and allocate duties effectively.
- Monitor service standards, cleanliness, and presentation of the restaurant.
- Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Assist in staff training, induction, grooming, and performance monitoring.
- Coordinate with kitchen and other departments for smooth service operations.
- Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards as per hotel policies.
- Check restaurant setup before service and ensure readiness for operations.
- Assist in inventory control, stock monitoring, and requisition of supplies.
- Support billing, cash handling, and daily sales reconciliation procedures.
- Help achieve sales targets through suggestive selling and promotional activities.
- Prepare operational reports and communicate shift updates to management.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in restaurant or F&B service, preferably in a hotel.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership and team management ability.
- Basic knowledge of restaurant POS systems and billing procedures.
- Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
