Job description:
Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) will ensure that food products are safe for consumption and meet consistent quality standards by monitoring production processes from raw material intake to storage, to production to dispatch and/or serving at the table.
Core Responsibilities
Safety Protocols: Implement and maintain food safety management systems such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Testing & Inspection: Periodically organize and conduct microbiological, chemical, and sensory testing on raw materials and finished products to identify defects or contamination.
Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to local and international regulations (e.g., FSSAI) and manage internal and external inspections and audits
Issue Resolution: Investigate customer complaints regarding stale/bad food, perform root cause analysis, and execute CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all tests, inspections, and sanitation logs for traceability and regulatory reporting.
Team Training: Educate production staff and food handlers on hygiene standards, safety policies, and quality control procedures
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field is standard.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in food safety standards (BRC, FSSC 22000) and laboratory equipment operation (pH meters, moisture analyzers).
Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, strong communication, and the ability to work in fast-paced production environments.
Certifications: Professional certifications like PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) or specialized HACCP training are often highly preferred.
