EST USA working hours (i.e 6.30 PM IST to 3.30 AM IST)
Key Responsibilities
The role generally spans hardware maintenance, software configuration, and direct user support
* Hardware Support: Installing, configuring, and repairing physical equipment like PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and routers.
* Software Management: Deploying and updating operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and essential applications
* Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues related to network connectivity (DNS, DHCP, VPN), software glitches, and system failures
* User Training: Walking employees through the use of new equipment or software and providing basic technical orientations.
* Inventory & Documentation: Tracking hardware assets, managing software licenses, and maintaining detailed logs of support tickets and resolutions.
Common Job Requirements
* Education: A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology is typically preferred.
* Certifications: Industry-standard credentials like CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) are highly valued.
* Experience: Requirements range from entry-level 8-10 year) to more senior roles (10= years) depending on the organization's complexity.
Essential Skills
* Technical Proficiency: Hands-on knowledge of OS environments, antivirus software, and diagnostic tools.
* Communication: The ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical users in a clear, patient manner.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify root causes of failures and implement lasting fixes.
* Customer Service: A helpful, empathetic attitude is critical as this role involves direct interaction with frustrated users.
