Position Purpose
He should be able to handle QA QC activities for Electrical and C&I equipment for various Power plant equipment’s.
Dimensions
He should be able to work independently/under guidance and be capable of handling QA/QC activities for Electrical and Instrumentation equipment.
Exposure to handling Overseas Customers and Experience in EPC companies shall be considered as added advantage
Vast experience with several vendors.
Having a strong technical background about manufacturing and testing activities followed by various vendor.
It is preferred to have experience with clients such as NTPC.
Principal Accountabilities
The candidate shall be able to plan and implement necessary action in a satisfactory manner to support QA/QC related issues for Electrical and C&I packages.
Review of Inspection reports, Review of vendor QAP, preparation of reports.
He should be able to review Test reports for Electrical and instrumentation items.
He should be able to prepare documentation to be submitted to Customer for obtaining dispatch clearance from Customer.
Nature & Scope
He should be able to support QA/QC activities for Electrical and C&I packages –
Review Tender specification, Prepare deviation & clarifications.
Prepare QA requirement, QAP/ITP documents for RFQ, Vendor offer evaluation.
Vendor Assessement/Audit/Evaluation.
Meetings and coordination with clients.
He should be able to handle Inspection/QA/QC activity. Must have good interpersonal skills.
Person Profile
Educational Qualification
B. E. Electrical from premiere college: 07 - 15 Years of experience in EPC Power Companies in Quality.
Experience
- Reviewing inspection test plan of equipment for Electrical and C&I equipment and seeking approval from clients like NTPC.
- Preparation of testing requirement for Electrical and C&I equipment for Customer involvement including equipment test plan.
- Should have good knowledge in preparing & Reviewing of Work Procedure, Standard Operating procedures, Field ITP/Check sheets/ protocols /, Pre-commissioning testing protocols, Commissioning protocols.
- Hands on experience in Reviewing and engaging in commissioning activities of Electrical and Instrumentation equipment.
- Should have good experience in erection and testing of Transformer, motors and relay panels.
- Should have good experience in erection and testing of Switchgear and relay.
- Should have good knowledge to review Electrical schematics, relay protections
- NDE Qualifications in line with ASNT-NC-1 A on RT, UT, PT, VT and MPT is must with valid Level-II Certifications is added advantage.
- ISO 9001: Series Internal certification with appropriate Auditing skill is a mandatory.
- Knowledge of applicable Codes and Standards like IEC,IEEE, NEMA, IS, BS Codes etc.
- Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
- FQA ( Field Quality Assurance) QA, QC Experience in Reputed EPC Companies will be preferred
- Skills on Non conformity Management, Root Cause analysis and 7 Quality tool.
Specific Skills
- Strong knowledge on suppliers Quality related aspects
- Review and approve manufacturer inspection and test plan and testing procedures.
- Ability to read drawings – SLD, datasheet for equipments(transformer, switchgear, motor etc), GA drawings, calculations.
- Experience in dealing / handling Overseas Customers/Vendors.
- Resolve of Deviations pertaining to NCR, Corrective action request, Site Deviation request, and field observation reports etc. Skills on Non conformity Management, Root Cause analysis and 7 Quality tool.
- Vendor assessments and approvals, developments in ensuring effective and smooth coordination.
- Coordinate with TPIA (Third Party Inspection agency) to perform Inspection based on Inspection calls raised by manufacturer.
