About the Role
9 Squares Architects is seeking a qualified and motivated Urban Planner to join our dynamic, interdisciplinary team in Indore. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic vision and technical expertise to contribute to urban development and planning projects across multiple scales — from local area plans to township planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop master plans and urban design frameworks for projects of varying scales
- Conduct site analyses covering zoning regulations, land use policies, environmental impact, infrastructure needs, and social context
- Prepare urban planning documentation and reports in line with statutory requirements and best practices
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, landscape designers, and other consultants for integrated planning outcomes
- Assist in preparing and reviewing zoning plans, development control regulations, and TP (Town Planning) schemes
- Engage with government authorities, clients, and stakeholders for approvals, presentations, and collaborative planning
- Manage projects from planning through execution, coordinating with consultants and teams
- Stay current on planning codes, building regulations, and urban development policies in India
- Identify new opportunities and represent the firm in relevant forums
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Engineering with a Master's in Urban Planning (Mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of urban policy, zoning regulations, and statutory planning processes
- Experience with zonal plans, local area plans, or TP schemes preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, and MS Office
- Excellent analytical, visualization, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, lead teams, and work under deadlines
- Strong collaborative skills within interdisciplinary teams
