Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Record Keeping & Reconciliation: Record day-to-day transactions and reconcile bank and ledger accounts to prevent discrepancies.
- Tax & Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns while ensuring compliance with standard accounting principles (like GAAP or IFRS) and local regulations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Monitor cash flow, assist in compiling budgets, and analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Payroll & Accounts: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and process employee payroll accurately.
- Auditing: Conduct internal audits and assist external auditors to verify financial accuracy and security.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or commerce. Certifications like a CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA are highly valued.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting systems and software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Tally.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong mathematical skills and the ability to work extensively with spreadsheets (e.g., advanced Excel functions).
- Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy to avoid financial errors, fraud, and mismanagement.
- Communication: Ability to break down and explain complex financial reports to non-financial stakeholders.
