The Site Supervisor will oversee and manage daily construction activities at the site to ensure the project progresses according to the planned schedule, budget, and quality standards. This role involves managing workers, ensuring safety regulations are followed, coordinating tasks with the project team, and solving on-site issues to facilitate smooth project execution.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
1. Site Supervision:
- Supervise and monitor all construction activities on-site to ensure they are completed according to the project specifications and schedule.
- Direct, manage, and coordinate the workforce, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Ensure that construction standards, safety protocols, and quality control measures are adhered to at all times.
2. Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to interpret and execute construction plans.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Report progress, delays, and site issues to the project manager, providing solutions for any problems encountered.
3. Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all safety guidelines and regulations are strictly followed on-site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and tool-box talks to maintain a safe working environment.
- Address any hazardous conditions and ensure that workers use personal protective equipment (PPE).
4. Material and Equipment Management:
- Monitor the usage of materials and equipment, ensuring they are used efficiently and properly.
- Coordinate with the storekeeper to ensure that materials and tools required for construction are available and stored correctly.
- Maintain a log of equipment and materials used, reporting any shortages or excess to the project team.
5. Workforce Management:
- Assign and delegate tasks to workers and ensure they are performed efficiently.
- Monitor worker attendance, productivity, and quality of work.
- Provide on-site training and guidance to workers to ensure that they follow construction methods and safety procedures.
6. Quality Control:
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and is completed according to design specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of the construction work and provide feedback for improvement.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, material usage, labor allocation, and progress reports.
- Report any project delays or issues to the project manager and propose solutions to keep the project on track.
- Document and report any incidents, accidents, or near misses that occur on-site.
8. Problem Solving:
- Troubleshoot on-site problems that may arise with workers, materials, or equipment.
- Proactively find solutions to delays, safety issues, or quality concerns.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5 to 9 years of experience in construction site supervision.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site regulations, and protocols.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using construction management tools or software is a plus.
